My name is Lars Brünjes, and I am a mathematician.

I was born in 1971 in Wuppertal (Germany) and grew up in Cologne (Germany). My parents are both mathematicians, and I inherited their passion. Then I got my first home computer, a Sinclair ZX81, at the age of 12, and I’ve been an enthusiastic programmer ever since.

After school, I studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Cologne, then moved to Regensburg (Germany) for my PhD. After receiving my doctorate in mathematics, I spent one year at Cambridge University in the UK as a Postdoc, then returned to Regensburg University for teaching and research.

Finally I left the academic life and joint the IT service company Tieto as a software architect, specializing on optimization software.

I love learning new programming languages, and I’m especifally fascinated by functional languages like Haskell, Lisp and F#.

In this blog, I want to write about my “adventures” in .Net in general and in F# in particular.
